New Design - Photo Replication
Over the last couple of weeks you may have noticed I've been posting fewer new items in my store. Well that's because I was exploring a new design process...photo replication! I'm really excited to share my first project with you. It is a sunset over the ocean, and it really turned out beautifully. This is going to be turned into a vase cover within the week, so if you like it...look for it in my store soon!
I really think there are so many possibilities that this photo replication process can be used for: landscapes, people, pets... The main limitation is size. Because I work with sequins, everything has to be pixelated. This will cause small details to be lost. The other limitation is color. Sequins are only made in a limited range of colors, so an exact match to a photo may not be possible.
If you have a photo that you'd like to be turned into one of my creations, please let me know! We'll work together to decide what size/application would be best, and then coordinate on colors if needed.

Another Week, Another Casualty
This time it was me. I was making a lovely feather wreath when I decided to stick my arm into molten glue. I won't post any pictures because yuck. But it's a week later and I still have a gaping wound. (Don't worry, not bad enough to see a doctor. I'm keeping it clean and it is healing nicely.)
So PSA: Be careful with hot glue guns! Or hot things in general!

Crafting with Dogs
I had my first crafting casualty this week. :-( I'm working on a small tissue box cover, and one of my fosters got ahold of the completed top piece. RIP. Luckily she only destroyed one web, so I think I can just deconstruct down to the sides and then insert a new piece. If not, I'll have to start from scratch. Wish me luck!
Update: I wasn't able to salvage it. I'm going to have to start it over. :-( sad day. But not the end of the world. What really ended up upsetting me, is that this morning the naughty dogs grabbed the half finished side I was working on, and chewed up two corners on that. So I was pretty angry this morning. But I learned my lesson and put all my crafting supplies up out of reach. And this weekend I'm going to invest in a small plastic bin that I can store my supplies in when I'm not using them.

Green Bay Packers Wreath
I sometimes bring my completed projects to my office to display. I like to get opinions from my coworkers to see what looks good, what needs improvements, etc. They're very honest, and not afraid to hurt my feelings.
This month, I decided to display my New Year's Wreath (for obvious reasons). Well, I had 4 separate people ask me who died. So apparently it is not a cheerful wreath, as intended. So I'm going to try to come up with something to improve it. But in the meantime, I needed to come up with a new wreath to hang at work! I didn't have anything at home appropriate for the current weather/holidays, so I decided I'd make a Packers wreath, as most of my coworkers are fans.
I didn't want to do anything too crazy or expensive for this wreath, since I was just doing it to appease my coworkers. I happened to have a broken styrofoam core, so I decided I'd use that (it was just broken at the seam, I glued it back together and I don't even think anyone can tell!). I did use some of my good tulle (kelly green, butter, and diamond white). But I didn't put any embellishments on. My coworkers are mostly men, so I thought embellishments would create extra criticism (I was wrong, they requested a cheesehead added on).
Now, I'm not licensed to sell NFL merchandise, so this wreath is not for sale. But it is another example of the designs I can do. So if you want a specific color combination (with or without embellishments), let me know!
